The White Balloon
I saw a white balloon today tied to a banister
It swayed in the breeze but when the wind was still it struggled
The balloon fought against the cold black banister wanting to be free
And immediately my soul felt its pain cuz it reminded myself of me
Tied down and just wanting to escape, feeling totally stuck
So I cut it loose and let it soar, watching until it was gone
Goodbye white balloon, reach the highest height
For one day I won’t be tied down either and I’ll be rising to the sky
