3 Surgeries, 2 Jobs, 1 Manuscript And a Few Good Books

First off, I would like to say a hearty hello to all new followers. I appreciate you stopping by and checking things out.

So many things have been going on lately. So much so, that my poor site has been last on my to-do list. Mostly by default and not purposely.

If you haven’t heard by now, over the last month and a half I have been dealing with a very large and unruly kidney stone. I have had 2 surgeries thus far and am preparing for another on the 31st of this month. Honestly, it’s the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever had to deal with physically (which is saying a lot because I’ve given birth 4 times). Nevertheless, these procedures have taken a huge toll on me but I am trying really hard to fight through the pain and exhaustion.

In the midst of my ongoing medical issues, I have been working when I’m not resting. My job can be unnecessarily demanding at times, and lately its been beyond busy. My freelance duties have somehow picked up as well, leaving me almost zero time to even think about my own personal writing goals. Having 2 jobs can be lucrative but it can also be a pain in the neck when combined with physical issues.

When I do get a few moments to breathe and I am not in pain, I’ve been working on a new novel entitled, “Mind Games”. It’s coming along pretty nicely. Now, I have acquired writers’ block as of lately but I try not to allow that to hinder me. I’m trying to complete this manuscript, mostly because I have another manuscript (Model Citizens) waiting to be started.

When I feel like I can’t write, I just curl up with a good book. I’ve read some winners lately such as “The Stranger” by Albert Camus. My latest read was “Close Your Eyes” by Amanda Eyre Ward. It’s a very good read and will keep you wondering throughout the entire book. I’m now reading “Alif the Unseen” by G. Willow Wilson. For a list of what I’ve been reading, find me on goodreads.com.

I hope that I’ve caught all of you up to speed and you’re not totally mad for me seemingly abandoning my poor site. It just kind of happened but I hope this explains it. Hopefully, my next post will be an update of Mind Games and this writers’ block goes away.

Til next time.

Peace & Blessing
