30 Day Challenge: Day 2

It’s day 2 and I am still super excited.

Like I already said, I’ve been working on a new poem called L.W.B. or Living While Black. Even though I’ve added several stanzas it still felt like there was something missing but I couldn’t put my finger on it.

Lucky for me, I have some very talented and amazing friends who constantly inspire me. It was Ms. Ceshia Fierce that was the driving force for my inspiration today. She is an amazing poet and was able to give me insight on just what I may have missed in my poem. With her help I was able to complete L.W.B. with a high satisfaction that it will be a powerful piece.

On the flip side of things, my very close friend and producer Hit Mann informed me that just placing the poem on the site wasn’t enough. He is absolutely convinced that the poem will have more of an impact  if it is performed, which you all know frightened me immediately. However, since this is during my 30 day challenge, working on getting past my performance anxiety is on my list of things to do.

It’s having friends such as these that keeps me going and allows me to stay inspired. And it’s also due to having such amazing people in my life that I can take on a challenge that will widen my mind, tone my body, and will ultimately cleanse my soul.
